Where Your Treasure Is: How to Budget for What Matters to You
My family has had an on-again/off-again relationship with sticking to a budget, but there really is great value in it.
A budget is such a helpful tool for anyone, no matter what your financial situation. First, it can allow you to see where your money is going. From there, you can evaluate if there are items in your budget that you want to change. That allows you to start taking control of your finances. Once you have stopped spending money where you don’t want to spend it, you can move to intentionally using your money for the things that matter to you.
That is my #1 motivation for budgeting! I want to be intentional with my money. I work hard to earn it, and I want to make sure I’m using it in ways that are consistent with my values. What that looks like for each person or family will differ, but the process for getting there is the same.
I talk more about reasons for having a budget in the video below. Hope this helps you get started!
